We have been lucky enough annually to provide the marquees for the SKOLL World Forum where each year, the world’s most influential social entrepreneurs, key thought leaders, and strategic partners gather at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School to exchange ideas and activate solutions to global issues.
It’s a challenging brief where every year we work to improve the standard of our finish not only to try and better ourselves but to provide an even more professional environment for the client for an event whose profile is ever increasing.
We not only have restricted access here, but the site is also challenging and on many levels. We utilise our cassette flooring throughout with full tack-off linings in the courtyard marquee along with glazing, solid sides and clear roofs. The main structure although to an equally high standard is only partly tacked off to support the clients need for sustainability and reusability which filters all the way down through to the products we use.
Our vehicles need to unload up to 170m away from the marquee sites, so we use trolleys to manoeuvre the kit as well as carrying by hand. The site is protected so we cannot stake the marquee down it must be weighted. However, we pride ourselves in problem solving, building bespoke requirements into our schedules and coming up with solutions to overcome any issues.
Meridian are responsible for delivering a combined schedule for all suppliers involved. This can be challenging not only dealing with an international client but dovetailing in with all the contractors, their timings and individual needs.
