Le Mans Customer Experience

The client, a large car retailer with an owners club for its luxury car brand customers, which offers driver experiences to motoring events such as to Le Mans and Shelsley Walsh, for its club members.
Each year 200 guests head out to Le Mans in their personal cars, to spend the weekend staying in the grounds of a beautiful period chateau. These are special high end packages for some of retailers most prestigious clients and have to run smoothly and be in keeping with the brands they represent such as Aston Martin, Porsche and Range Rover.
The retailer wanted a large entertainments Marquee, well presented toilets and showers, a bar, caterers able to deliver food comparable to hotel quality and selection, broadband access across site and an outdoor cinema with a live stream from the Le Mans 24 hour race.
With this is mind and previous suppliers not meeting the anticipated standards, the retailer approached Meridian to help raise the bar on their flagship customer event.
Any event abroad is something that needs excellent planning as leaving essential equipment in the UK isn’t an option.
The marquee sits on a slope and the ground runs away in two directions. As ever the weather can cause problems, and I have no doubt that the weather will be the same year after year, we normally expect one day of torrential rain, which on a stone covered sand base causes a lot of extra challenges.
With 200+ people on site for 72 hours there is no room for error or breakdown. The majority of the kit is sourced from the UK to avoid language barriers or difference in expectations. All the equipment is shipped with spares where possible, especially kit such as generators where we use a runner generator with an auto switch over back up, failure is not an option.
To assure the quality everything was sourced and checked in the UK, marquee frame, flooring, generators and power distribution as well as furniture, toilets, showers, lighting, staging and catering kit.

Meridian, with Visions have an excellent team of project managers, technical staff , site team and event staff who we can always rely on to deliver, they have years of experience making sure everything we need is in place when it’s needed. They have regular meetings to discuss and follow project plans to meet mile stone targets when planning any event. All our events, no matter where in the world, follow the same procedures to always meet our exacting standards.
The marquee performs as the hub of the event for 24 hour use. We change the look, feel and atmosphere using lighting or furniture change around, making the space an excellent fit for the gala dinners, informal race breakfasts, Q&A sessions with drivers or just a social space for the guests.
